Demonstrators Take to the Streets in Protest of Trump & Governor Lombardo

LAS VEGAS, NV - Today, advocates and community members gathered to voice opposition to President Trump and Governor Lombard as Trump embarks on his first visit to Las Vegas of the 2026 Election season. Trump touted the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), which made devastating cuts to Medicaid, Medicare & SNAP to give tax breaks to the wealthy. The Lombardo-Trump economy has gas prices just over $4.95 per gallon, skyrocketing health insurance costs, and steadily rising grocery prices. Protestors chided Lombardo and Trump for the economic damage of tariffs, Trump’s war on Iran, economic uncertainty, and a cooling labor market.

Anwar Green, Digital Organizer with Battle Born Progress, issued the following statement: 

“Nevadans know that President Trump is a conman who has consistently used his wealth, power, and influence to take from the working class and give to his rich buddies. Even worse, Governor Lombardo believes his loyalty to the president and billionaire donors is the ticket to another four years as Governor. Little does he know, Nevadans are ready to say ‘Goodbye, no-show Joe.’ The majority of Nevadans are struggling every single day with affordability. We feel it at the gas pump, at the grocery store, and when we pay rent. Governor Lombardo has offered no solutions to the cost-of-living crisis, and the President he serves is determined to destroy our economy through reckless policies like tariffs, foreign wars, and cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, and SNAP. We need policies that put the working class first despite the bottom line of corporations.”
